December saw the Tyneside Book Club head out for a meal rather than a discussion.
Some top buffet action was had - including some very unwise consumption of jelly and ice cream on top of a mountain of curry.
It's been a year full of variety, the club having tackled everything from Science Fiction to the memoir of a punk pioneer. All have provoked lively discussion and debate.
There could be some sleepless nights over Christmas because when normal service resumes in January, we will be discussing a selection of MR James' ghost stories.
